Constellation Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions

Effective July 30, 2026 · constellation.you

The short version: your map is yours, Pro is a simple subscription you can cancel anytime, and the AI offers perspective - not professional advice.

Because your data lives on your device, backing it up is in your hands, and a forgotten secret-star passphrase cannot be recovered by anyone. Use the export button. Write the passphrase down.

1. What Constellation is

Constellation ("we", "us") is a web application at constellation.you for building a personal 3D map of your life. By using it you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service - no hard feelings.

2. Your content is yours

Everything you put into your map belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it and no licence over it beyond what's technically required to show it to you and, when you explicitly use an AI feature, to process it as described in the Privacy Policy. We never see your map otherwise - it is stored on your device, not our servers.

3. You are responsible for backups

Read this one. Your map lives in your browser and in files you save. If you clear your browser data, lose your device, or your browser evicts its storage, and you have not exported a file, your map is gone and we cannot restore it - we never had a copy. Use 💾 Save file or Auto‑save regularly.

Likewise, stars marked Secret are encrypted with a passphrase only you know. There is no reset, no recovery email, and no support ticket that can bring them back. If you forget the passphrase, those stars are permanently unreadable - by design.

4. Pro subscriptions

5. AI features - perspective, not advice

The AI features read the map you built and offer observations: patterns it sees, questions answered from your own entries, and estimates of possible futures with rough probabilities. These are a language model's reading of what you typed - they can be wrong, incomplete, or overconfident, and the probabilities are illustrative, not statistical facts.

They are not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. Constellation is a reflection tool, not a licensed professional. If you're making a decision that matters - health, money, relationships, career - treat the AI's output as one perspective among several, and talk to a qualified human.

AI usage on Pro is subject to fair-use limits that keep the service sustainable. If you hit the monthly allowance, AI features pause until the next cycle; everything else keeps working.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Constellation to violate the law, to harass or harm others, to build maps of people who haven't consented (build maps of your life, not surveillance of someone else's), or to probe, overload, or resell the service or its AI endpoints. We may suspend access that abuses the service or its fair-use limits.

7. The service is provided "as is"

We work hard to keep Constellation fast, private, and reliable, but it's provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied - including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability. Features may change or be discontinued as the product evolves.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of your use of Constellation is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose (which, on the free tier, is zero). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data you didn't export or decisions made in reliance on AI output.

9. Third-party services

Payments run on Stripe, AI runs on Anthropic, hosting runs on Vercel, and optional ad measurement uses Meta's pixel with your consent. Their terms govern their services; we're not responsible for their outages or actions.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator of Constellation resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stands.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, we'll update the date at the top. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
